Objectives
- To promote and maintain OSS community among the participating countries.
- To disseminate OSS effectively.
- To provide the right environment and infrastructure in which use of OSS can be promoted.
- To demonstrate importance of OSS in terms of technical, economic, education, social, and business, issues.
- To encourage knowledge/data/software sharing
- To update status of OSS development from each of the participating countries.
- To establish permanent infrastructure for OSS development and support as well as other related activities.
Conduct of the Meeting
The meeting was conducted through plenary and roundtable meeting as follows:1) Plenary
- Papers focus on the current OSS R&D and further development would be presented by representative from industrial sectors or developers.
- Papers focus on OSS support and promotion policy, information from key players, software usage in IT industrial organization, and economy status of IT development would be presented by invited guest from governmental agencies or supporting association.
- Papers focus on the goal or the expectation of Open source Software direction and the obstruction in using Open source Software would be presented by representative of users.
2) Roundtable (exclusive for economy's representative)
The meeting will be end with roundtable meeting for discussion of collaboration, and coordination on Open source Software R&D and promotion within in Asian regions.
